The organization serves both a residential and a non-residential population that is made up primarily of seniors, but the Homes' services are open to all regardless of age, race, creed, color, national origin, sex, disability, sexual orientation, marital status or source of payment. 

Fairport/Perinton Senior Living Council (SLC)

The Fairport/Perinton Senior Living Council is a local organization working to help citizens in the community to live independently as long as possible.   In 1984, a group of concerned individuals formed the Fairport Quality of Life Committee.  In 1988, the Town of Perinton, Village of Fairport and Perinton Churches Housing, Inc. incorporated as a not-for-profit organization, founding the Fairport/Perinton Senior Living council (SLC).  The SLC and its partners have established:

1. Senior Options for Independence (SOFI), a program providing care management services to Perinton Seniors

2. Three transportation services for Seniors in Perinton 

3. "Roselawn" a shared living residence for 8 Seniors 

4. "Rose Hollow", 12 independent-living apartments for Seniors.

Craft Bits & Pieces

In 2000, the SLC established an all-volunteer store in Fairport, called "Craft Bits & Pieces", as a fund raiser to help support the SOFI and transportation services. The store  accepts donations of craft materials (the stuff from which crafts are constructed), sorts, packs and resells them at prices far below retail.  With no payroll costs and essentially no cost of goods sold, the store makes a major contribution to these services.  Donations of craft materials are  accepted at the store, 138 Fairport Village Landing, Fairport, NY 14450. 

Hours:   W-Th-Fri  10 AM to 5 PM; Sat. 10 AM to4 PM

Additional Summer hours:  Tues. evenings 4:30 to 7 PM, starting May   31, 2010
