Senior Options for Independence, or SOFI

Community-based experienced Care Coordinators offer information on appropriate options that enable older persons to continue living safely and independently at home.   Includes home visits and individualized guidance, linkage to services and continued followup. There is no charge for SOFI services.  Donations are appreciated, but not required.  tel. 585-377-7830

Transportation Service

SOFI provides door-to-door and wheelchair-accessible transportation service within the Town of Perinton for medical appointments, essential errands and social outings for Perinton residents 60 and older.  Transportation (not wheelchair accessible) outside of Perinton to medical appointments is also available.  A suggested donation based on the trip is requested.  Phone: 585-377-8117 as far in advance as possible; calling hours 8:30 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

Community Center Access

The Town of Perinton provides transportation to and from the Perinton Community Center and to the Eastview Mall.

Sunday Dinners

Sunday Dinners are provided by the local churches.   They offer a free and nutritious meal and fellowship.  They are offered at 12:30 PM most Sundays.  The sites are handicap-friendly.  Deliveries are available for those who are home-bound by calling Mark Renfro at 223-0963.
