Provide quality housing and services for low-to-moderate income Seniors in Perinton.
Perinton Churches Housing, Inc. (PCH) was incorporated in 1970 by a coalition of Perinton churches and Fairport Baptist
Homes, Inc. to provide quality housing for low-to-moderate income Seniors. The
board of directors is composed of one representative from each sponsoring church and three
from the Fairport Baptist homes, Inc. Fairport
Apartments and Jefferson Park are products of
PCH.
In 1988, Perinton Churches Housing joined the Village of
Fairport and Town of Perinton to form the Fairport/Perinton Senior Living Council, Inc. to expand the
ability of PCH to provide housing for the Seniors of Perinton and to develop services to
help them live safe, independent lives in their own homes or apartments.
The Senior Living Council (SLC) owns two low-to-moderate income housing facilities in
the village of Fairport: Roselawn and Rose Hollow.
The SLC sponsors a care management program called Senior Options for Independence (SOFI) and
a
transportation service for seniors.
The SLC also operates a not-for-profit store in Fairport to support the SOFI
programs. It is called "Craft Bits & Pieces"
and is run by volunteers, The store accepts donated craft materials of all kinds,
then sorts, packages and resells them at very low prices.
